Hi, this is Ozan from Turkey.

I was shown some kids songs on guitar by a teacher when I was 10 years old. After five years, I found printed tablatures on a rock magazine which I never had any idea about what they were magazine and I tried to interpret them to play Nirvana – Come as You Are as that year’s hit song with my kid’s classical guitar.

I’ve started going to metal concerts and festivals with Metallica 1999 show in İstanbul and then I decided that I needed an electric guitar. Same way, I continued with printed tabs which were really hard to find as only one store in Ankara sold copies of tablature books of selected metal bands.

This journey leaded to me and Deniz Sayman form a cover band called YSK while we were both studying Physics Engineering at the same department -my seventh and Deniz’s 7th year-, and we performed in some bars 21 years ago from now.

Laterly, Deniz formed some other bands and I was asked to join one of them “Sırmalı” as bass player. As time passed, the band separated and I was asked to join Black Tooth for guitars. My first show with BT was Zeytinli Rock Festival in 2016 just one month after joining the band with only two rehearsals! I have played guitars two more times with them, then the bass player left to complete his military obligation so o switched to playing bass for five years to perform at the biggest festivals and arenas in Turkey with many greatest bands like Opeth, Amon Amarth, Napalm Death, Bloodbath and more.

Meanwhile, since 1999 I continued to travel Turkey and Europe for so many concerts and festivals to see and sometimes meet my favorite bands which include AC/DC, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Bon Jovi, Scorpions etc.

Currently, I am working with The Madcap as their tour/stage manager to handle their setup and issues during live performances.
