Hammer all shapes of the pentatonic scale in any key and in just a few days you will be playing awesome licks, improvising, and impressing yourself and others. Practice patterns and simple ideas that sound insane in each shape, start building speed and improve your creativity. Learn concepts like Blues Boxes and Question & Answer (Call & Response) and create beautiful phrases.

Now it’s time to play awesome guitar solos using the pentatonic shapes you’ve learned.​ These example solos will be a perfect guide for you to create your own phrases, melodies and solos.

Play incredibly fast in just a few weeks! Learn how to increase your speed and play exercises that will take your speed and accuracy to another level. Learn and practice alternate picking patterns, which will help you play tight and fast.​

This is music theory summarized without sight reading for you. It will prepare you for the upcoming sections. Understanding modes is essential if you want to break out of the “playing the same stuff over and over again” cycle. This opened a whole new perspective for me when I learned and mastered them. I believe it will do the same for you too! ​

Even after a few modules, you’ll be able to improvise and compose like a pro. Each mode has their characteristic sound. Each of them needs a different approach so you can maximize their potential. Learn their characteristics and how to approach them. Practice patterns that will help you build speed and learn the shapes, play example licks, solos and riffs in each mode. ​

We can’t think of the modes as individual shapes. There are certain ways we can use to combine them together. The relative and parallel approach to modes enlightened me when I first learned them. I believe these will open a new perspective for you as a musician.​

Discover new sounds and push the limits of your creativity with the three exotic scales you’ll learn. Exotic scales are very easy to play and each has a very distinctive sound. Even if you play these shapes up and down on the guitar fretboard they sound awesome! I will show you how I approach to each of them to maximize their potential.​

Crush it like your guitar heroes by studying Sweep picking. Learn arpeggios, their relationship to chords and the basic theory behind them; so you can sweep while improvising or composing. Once you learn the basics it’s so easy to sweep, even though it sounds very hard and impressive.

Tapping is adding your picking hand to your hammer-on, pull-off sequences. This technique enables a guitarist to play faster than alternate picking and sweep picking as well. A great example to this technique would be Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption. Learn the basics of the technique, practice patterns and play the example solo.​

You’ll be able to play awesome sounding, super fast pentatonic tapping tricks when you complete this section. Like any technique you learn in this course, we are going to combine the tapping with music theory starting with five shapes of the pentatonic scale. This will help you visualize the pentatonic scale in a different way, approach its notes with a different view. Practice patterns, example licks and guitar solos along with their respective backing tracks.​

Next up play insanely melodic and fast phrases using major scale and modes with the tapping technique. This will help you visualize major scale and modes in a different way. Since we’ll use 3 notes per string patterns and add the 4th finger with the picking hand, you’ll be able to play even faster melodies with this approach. You’ll practice patterns, example licks and guitar solos along with their respective backing tracks.​

I’ve seen Jennifer Batten playing Flight of the Bumblebee using this technique for the first time in my life. I was mesmerized! After some years I had the opportunity learn this technique from both Jennifer Batten and Joel Hoekstra. In this section we’ll play this technique in the five shape of the pentatonic scale. After you practice the exercises, you can play the guitar solo and play it along with the backing track.​

Play incredibly musical and fast 8 fingers tapping licks in the modes of the major scale. Practice patterns that will help building muscle memory and play the example guitar solo along with the backing track.​

Nail the Legato technique. Play soulful yet insanely fast tunes in just a few weeks. The best part is once you learn the basics it’s much easier to play than it seems.

Legato describes the collection of techniques used to change between notes in a quicker, more expressive way. These include hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides. Learn playing legato in the modes of the major scale. Like anything else in this course it will have a musical meaning while showing you a new way to express yourself.​

Shred awesome licks by learning to play the legato in five shapes of the pentatonic scale. After the patterns in this section you’ll be able to come up with new legato ideas and spice up your solos. This is a very powerful tool compared to its difficulty because it’s so much easier than it sounds, which is why I tend to use it so often. Learn how I approach playing legatos in the pentatonic scale, play the solo along with the backing track and learn how you can combine patterns to come up with your own ideas.​

Learn how to use the guitar pick and your fingers together and emphasize chord notes. Once you learn these, it becomes so easy to follow what’s happening in the music and you’ll be able to follow the chord progression while improvising or composing. 

Hybrid picking is the technique of using the pick and fingers of your picking hand together. The advantage of hybrid picking is that it is far easier to move between strings, especially when crossing multiple strings. You can also cut down the number of pick strokes needed, ultimately leading to a fluid sound. It sounds different than all other techniques because it includes the sound of a pick and playing with your fingers.

Learn 2, 3 and 4 fingers hybrid picking techniques, practice patterns, learn how to combine them and play final guitar solos along with their backing tracks in each chapter.

The final guitar solo of the course in this section is a solo I composed to play live for our “Eye of the Tiger” cover which includes most of the techniques you’ve learned in this course.​
